Biography
Taika Rautiainen is a dancer and teacher based in Helsinki and Stockholm. She graduated from Stockholm University of Arts in 2021, with a bachelor in Dance Performance.
Taika's artistic work is driven by an interest to bring and create dance in places where movement is scarce and with people who wouldn't be dancing otherwise. Her dancing wraps around researching deep rooted pleasure and enjoyment within oneself and in shared experiences. Taika believes that by becoming students of one's body over and over again we can learn and grow as individuals but also within our communities.
She approaches movement and dance through imagination and joy, by playing and challenging oneself, situations, relationships, and observations. She is interested to seek and find limitless opportunities to be and to live together - how to share a space, meet within and how can we get in touch with our personal and collective dreams and desires through bodily practices.
